Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer with deep experience in life sciences data formats, particularly Allotrope Data Format (ADF), as well as in designing and implementing scalable software solutions in startup environments. This individual will play a pivotal role in customizing our platform to meet client-specific needs, ensuring smooth data integration, and building solutions that handle high-volume, secure data exchanges across scientific workflows.

Responsibilities

1. Data Integration & System Architecture:
   
   • Architect backend services and data pipelines for handling high-throughput scientific data, ensuring compatibility with Allotrope Data Format (ADF) and similar standards.
   • Develop custom integrations and connectors, enabling our platform to communicate with various lab systems (e.g., LIMS, ELN, ERP) and laboratory instruments.
2. AI-Driven Automation & Data Management:
   
   • Work with internal AI agents (e.g., Plato for instrument integration, Reporto for automated reporting) to automate workflows, leveraging NLP to streamline protocol creation and data entry.
   • Collaborate with AI teams to implement AI-based data visualization and scientific analytics tools, transforming NLP inputs into actionable, Python-based analytical scripts.
3. Full-Stack Development for High-Performance Applications:
   
   • Build and optimize frontend interfaces using frameworks like React or Vue to display scientific data and facilitate real-time data manipulation.
   • Develop backend APIs with Java, Python, or similar languages, focusing on efficient data retrieval, real-time updates, and secure interactions.
4. Cloud Infrastructure & Scalability:
   
   • Deploy scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, utilizing services like S3, Lambda, and EC2 for auto-scaling, data storage, and handling multi-tenant configurations.
   • Implement load balancing and caching mechanisms to maintain optimal performance under high data and user volumes.
5. Performance Optimization & Data Security:
   
   • Use advanced data validation, sanitization, and encryption techniques to ensure data security and prevent vulnerabilities.
   • Conduct performance monitoring, load testing, and bottleneck analysis to optimize application reliability, with strict adherence to security and compliance.
6. Client Implementation & Technical Support:
   
   • Work directly with clients to understand their data models and implement customized solutions, specifically supporting Allotrope Data Format or other proprietary scientific data formats.
   • Guide clients in configuring data ingestion workflows, implementing custom connectors, and aligning platform use with specific regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  3+ years in full-stack development, with at least 2 years in a startup or high-growth environment, and specific experience handling scientific data formats like Allotrope Data Format (ADF).
• Technical Skills:
  
  • Frontend:
    Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue), with a focus on creating user-friendly data interfaces.
  • Backend:
    Strong experience with Java, Python, or similar languages, and API development.
  • Data Management & Integration:
    Proficient with cloud storage (AWS S3), SQL/NoSQL databases, and able to handle large datasets and complex data formats.
  • DevOps & CI/CD:
    Experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and AWS DevOps tools.
  • Security & Compliance:
    Familiarity with SOC 2, HIPAA, and industry best practices for data protection.
• Specialized Knowledge:
  Experience with Allotrope Data Format (ADF) and integrations with lab information systems (LIMS, ELN) is highly preferred.
• Problem Solving:
  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to design solutions for complex, regulated environments.

Preferred Experience

• Background in life sciences, biotech, or experience with lab automation tools.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, especially in NLP-driven applications for scientific use cases.
• Experience managing and scaling applications with high volumes of scientific or analytical data.
