We want you to apply!Job Summary and QualificationsWe are seeking a highly-skilled and energetic RN to deliver quality and compassionate nursing care while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in our critical care step-down unit.
In this role you will provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute and/or chronic diagnoses.
This team serves cardiology and medical/surgical patients who may require telemetry or bedside monitoring.

As a registered nurse you will deliver patient-centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.On the critical care step-down unit you will monitor heart rhythms, titrate select drips, and utilize critical thinking to manage your patientWorking with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers and patient care staff, you will create and implement a care plan to meet each patient's needs.Utilizing computerized documentation systems, you will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.As a part of the clinical team in the critical care step-down unit, you will coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.When dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers, you will maintain cultural awareness, and much more.You will have the opportunity to attend the Critical Care Internship for growthWhat qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.1 year of medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.CJW Medical Center is comprised of Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital.
