Your expertise will help shape the practice of nursing and improve outcomes for patients as an Inpatient Oncology Registered Nurse.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care within our 24-bed inpatient oncology medical surgical unit.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of patients during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly reporting any changes.
Collaborating with oncology-certified nurses and specialists to develop care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Performing medical procedures and administering medications accurately while ensuring prompt documentation in medical records.
Providing responsive, exceptional care by anticipating patient needs and addressing their requests swiftly.
Educating patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up, ensuring clarity and understanding.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Multistate Compact License.
Preferred experience includes at least 1 year of oncology medical surgical nursing in an acute care hospital setting.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) is preferred.
