International Account manager German market - Poultry

Your challenge as an Accountmanager Poultry / Business Development Manager

You will drive the sales of our poultry products (fresh, frozen, and ready-made convenience items) within the European market. With increasing demand from existing customers and our ambition to expand by acquiring new clients, we are looking for a motivated professional to grow this business unit with us.

Key responsibilities

- Identify market opportunities:
You analyze market trends and competition across Europe to discover new opportunities and develop strategies to increase our market share and translate this into commercial actions;

- Internal and external follow-up:
You maintain contact with suppliers, customers and support colleagues to ensure that the entire purchasing and sales process runs smoothly, documentation is up-to-date and packaging meets EU standards.

- As our poultry expert, you'll provide advise your customers and our other Account Managers.

- You will have influence on our stock levels and purchasing decisions therefore you'll work closely with the Product Managers. You ensure efficient inventory management to ensure that our products are always available when our customers need them.

- You'll be frequently in touch with our German sales office due to our focus on the German market.

- Travelling will be part of your job (to customers and suppliers).

Your colleagues

You will report to the Sales Manager and the companies whose brands we represent. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Product Managers (Mark, Alex, and Rick) and the broader sales team, which ranges in age from 24 to 56 years old, with approximately 20% non-Dutch members.

The ideal Account Manager

We value your personality, motivation, and skills over specific educational qualifications. You are a driven, goal-oriented individual with strong commercial abilities, ready to take the next step in your career. You're willing to travel within Europe to meet customers and attend food fairs. FMCG experience is preferred, and this role is ideal for candidates seeking a second or third career step.

Of course, we do have some practical requirements

1. Proven sales experience

2. You have some basic knowledge of the German language and you're willing to learn. Ideally, you speak fluent German.

3. Live nearby our office in Zoeterwoude

We are a leading company in the international protein supply chain with our head office in Zoeterwoude, the Netherlands Originally Zandbergen is a trading company who imports and exports meat and meat products. Since 2018 we added plant-based products to our assortment and one year later we also started to produce Beyond Meat products in our production plant 'The New Plant'.

We are a sourcing partner for food manufacturers, foodservice and retail. Our animal based protein products mainly come from North- and South-America, Australia, New-Zealand and Thailand. We have customers all over Europe and the United Arab Emirates.
