EMEA Financial Controller
Hybrid working (Citywest location)

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established company in the Retail sector, with a strong presence in the European market. Key responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax requirements.
Manage statutory audits, liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Maintain general ledger integrity, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
Implement and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Handle Intercompany transactions in compliance with Company policies and procedures
Assist with treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Manage and mentor a team of accountants and finance professionals, ensuring high performance.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Build partnership with EMEA Commercial and Operational Leadership. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and cash flow forecasting.
Provide variance analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
Process Improvement & Systems Management
Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes, leveraging automation and best practices.
Oversee the use of accounting systems (Nav Business Central, SAP, etc.) and recommend improvements. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with senior management, finance teams, and operational departments to support financial goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounting Manager should have:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) required.
5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a team lead/ managerial role.
Experience in a multinational or corporate environment preferred.
Strong communication skills and be detail oriented with the ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
USGAAP and SOX experience advantageous
Able to apply consistent standards while adapting to frequent changes in Company requirements.
Be flexible and able to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Strong Microsoft Excel, and Word skills are required. Experience with Business Central or similar ERP is a plus.
Fluency in English and another European language would be highly regarded (French, Italian or Spanish)

What's on Offer

An attractive salary package ranging from €80,000- 95,000 depending on experience
