ESG/Sustainability Strategy Principal

The right individual will lead the growth of our ESG and sustainability practice and contribute to advancing innovative, cross-disciplinary solutions for our clients.
To succeed in this role you must have a BS or MS in a relevant field and 15 to 20+ years of work experience specifically in ESG- or sustainability-related disciplines across multiple industry sectors.

You will join our ESG and Sustainability Practice As our new Principal, you will be part of a dynamic team providing state-of-the-art scientific, technical, and strategic assistance to an international client base.
You'll have a proven track record as an experienced consultant with an emphasis on sustainability, greenhouse gas management, the energy transition, and/or ESG or climate change strategy with corporations.
You'll drive business development activities within your network and with other Ramboll clients while overseeing high quality project execution and building the team to support your practice.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Provide overall leadership for ESG and sustainability services, including developing long-term client relationships, building sales pipeline, ensuring high quality project delivery, and growing and building capacity of the required team to deliver against agreed upon growth targets.
• Provide industry-specific thought leadership on emerging ESG, sustainability, and climate change topics and leverage your and Ramboll's collective expertise to position Ramboll as a trusted, expert advisor in this sector.
• Oversee project delivery with a focus on client management, quality assurance, and building deep, long-term relationships that position Ramboll as the partner of choice for our clients.
• Collaborate with Ramboll's energy, water, management consulting, and EHS experts in deploying integrated sustainability solutions as a marketplace differentiator.
• Drive innovation and thought leadership within focus area(s) to stay ahead of client needs and support brand and positioning efforts.
• Build sector/offer specific capacity within the team, including leading recruiting efforts, providing formal and informal learning opportunities, and driving career development for junior team members.

For this role, we believe your starting point is:

• BS or (preferably) MS in a relevant field and 15-20+ years of work experience in multiple industry sectors and ESG- or sustainability-related field.
• Solid track record in assisting corporate and financial clients on local and European ESG regulations (e.g.
SFDR, TCFD, Carbon neutrality strategies and tools/Water strategies (AWS)/Biodiversity (TFND), CSRD, etc.) including Iberian Market.
• Demonstrated thought leadership in the above sectors and disciplines.
• Strong technical skills and experience in writing technical proposals and reports.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Local language, English C2 level.
Portuguese is a plus.
