Head of Software

As Head of Software Engineering, you will drive the entire software development cycle (including design, development, integration, and maintenance) of software components, along with supporting system integration and testing for all projects across the company. You will provide strategic vision, inspiration, and lead the growth of the software team.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership, program management, related disciplines, and mission teams to ensure seamless integration of ground systems with flight operations.

Your role involves working with teams across functions such as Executive Leadership, Program Management, R&D, Product Development, and Satellite Operations to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of software products.

You will guide a diverse team of software developers in all aspects of space missions, including space infrastructure, ground infrastructure, and user infrastructure. The software developed spans chip level, application level, cloud-based infrastructure, and web-based solutions.

Your main tasks will include :

Defining and executing the software development roadmap aligned with Aistech's strategic goals.

Overseeing software architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance activities.

Managing and mentoring the software engineering team to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.

Identifying skill needs within the team and leading recruitment to build a cohesive team.

Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective software solutions.

Implementing best practices, coding standards, and comprehensive documentation.

Ensuring continuous integration, delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing workflows are embedded into the company culture.

Defining and implementing robust software infrastructure for high reliability and availability.

Adding cybersecurity layers to protect against external and internal threats.

Evaluating and adopting new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve products.

Implementing space standards such as CCSDS and ECSS where applicable.

Contributing to strategic decisions within the technology department.

Other responsibilities include :

Managing budgets, timelines, resources, and external partnerships effectively.

Representing the software engineering team in meetings.

Participating in industry events and contributing to company publications.

Who you are : Must :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 10 years of software development experience, with at least 6 years in a managerial role.

Strong expertise in developing and managing cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

Solid knowledge in software architecture, systems design, data engineering, and DevOps.

Experience in cybersecurity for businesses.

Experience in building reliable, highly available software solutions.

Leadership skills in agile project management and cross-team collaboration.

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have :

Experience with time-series and relational databases.

Experience with MBSE and process automation.

Experience in UI and UX development.

Experience with geospatial technologies, remote sensing data, or GIS software.

Knowledge of satellite data processing and analytics platforms.

Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning applications for geospatial data.

Previous experience in space or remote sensing industries.
