At Sage Recruiting, we're partnering with a well-funded, late-stage fintech startup that's transforming how people manage their finances. Our client's innovative platform combines behavioural psychology with cutting-edge technology to help users maximize happiness through mindful saving, spending, and investing. We are hiring both Intermediate and Senior Software Engineers to join a brand-new Platform Engineering team. You'll work closely with the Director and VP of Engineering to help design and build a greenfield B2B SaaS product from the ground up.
If you're at an intermediate engineer (2-4 years of experience) , you'll contribute to critical development work, collaborate closely with senior engineers, and deepen your skills across cloud services, APIs, and scalable architecture.
If you're a senior engineer (5+ years of experience) , you'll take ownership over key areas of the platform, help design the initial architecture, lead development efforts, and mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
This is a rare opportunity to get in early on a high-impact product and help shape its future direction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design) to build scalable, cloud-native software solutions.
~ Design and optimize systems for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
~ Contribute to establishing coding standards and technical best practices.
~(Senior level) Lead technical design discussions, mentor team members, and guide architectural decisions.
Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript (React & Node.js)
Experience building and integrating with APIS (B2B or developer-facing experience is ideal).
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design).
Exposure to Java or Kotlin.
Previous experience working in startups or FinTech environments.
Intermediate:
$110,000 - $140,000 CAD

$150,000 - $170,000 CAD
