• Position Summary
• The Speech Language Pathologist (known internally as Speech Language Pathology Consultant) will work as a member of the Specialized Learning Supports school-linked teams to provide trans-disciplinary support to school personnel serving students with diverse learning needs who are in Kindergarten through Grade 12.
• Job Duties/Responsibilities
• providing consultative services and supports to schools and families for children in Kindergarten classrooms through to Grade 12 who have speech and/or language difficulties
• providing intervention and assessments
• recommending communication strategies and programming for students with complex learning needs through collaborative partnerships with teachers and other professionals
• training, coaching and mentoring educational assistants and speech language assistants in the implementation of targeted and specialized strategies
• providing expertise to the learning team in the areas of specific communication disorders, expressive language, receptive language, literacy, social communication, speech sound production, and augmentative and alternative communication
• discussing, demonstrating, modeling and providing communication strategies to support adaptations and modifications of the curriculum
• Education/Qualifications
• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
• registered with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
• minimum of three years related experience in classroom-based service delivery to children and youth
• excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills
• experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication
• MULTIPLE POSITIONS AVAILABLE.
• These positions are for the 2025-26 school year.
