SAR - Environmental Field Technician

Antigonish, Nova Scotia

Strum is currently looking to expand our Site Assessment & Remediation team and has an opening in our Antigonish office for an Environmental Field Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities

Adhering to Strum's health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed.
Collection of accurate data in the field using various types of equipment.
Collection of various types of field samples (e.G., soil, water, air, asbestos, lead paint, etc.)
Compilation of clear, concise, and accurate field notes.
Support existing field and reporting teams while demonstrating ability to work independently and as part of a larger close-knit team

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary education program related to science, engineering or environmental studies.
Must be physically capable of performing field work duties.
Must have a strong background in sciences.
Must possess the ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Must possess a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Possess professional demeanour and communicate with excellent verbal and written skills in English.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary education program related to science, engineering or environmental studies.
Must possess a Nova Scotia Driver's License.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
