Position Summary:
As a PRN Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, delegating, and coordinating nursing care during your scheduled shifts. Your contributions will be vital to our patients' care plans and will involve collaboration with our dedicated healthcare team.
Conduct thorough nursing assessments to identify actual and potential needs/problems, forming a prioritized plan of care.
Supervise nursing team members (LPNs, Nursing Assistants, and Uncertified Caregivers) while delegating patient assignments based on acuity and team proficiency.
Respond adeptly to emergency and life-threatening situations.
Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and educational needs, ensuring follow-ups on patient/family responses to care.
Administer medications and treatments safely, including IV medications, blood products, and chemotherapy.
Ensure a safe patient environment by adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols.
Receive and document physician orders, following through to evaluate patient outcomes and ensuring proper execution per hospital policy.
Qualifications:
Licensure:
Must hold a current Virginia License upon hiring.
Experience/Education:
No prior clinical nursing experience is necessary, as comprehensive orientation and unit-specific training will be provided within your first month. Previous Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
Special Qualifications:
Must maintain proficiency in unit-specific requirements, including certification in CPR and completing annual proficiency evaluations.
