We're looking for a brilliant Director of Product Design to be a foundational part of this journey, working shoulder-to-shoulder with product and engineering leaders.

  Work directly with founders, the VP of Product, and engineering leads daily. Your insights and designs will directly influence strategy and execution - no layers of bureaucracy, just direct impact.

Your Challenge:

We need a visionary designer who thrives on ambiguity and complexity. You will:

• Own the Design Vision:
  Drive the end-to-end design process for core aspects of our platform, translating abstract technical concepts and ambitious business goals into intuitive, elegant, and effective user experiences.
• Pioneer User Understanding:
  Go beyond standard user research. Deeply investigate the needs, workflows, and mental models of diverse users (from network engineers to potential end-users), employing creative qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover non-obvious insights in a nascent space.
• Translate Ambiguity into Actionable Design:
  Craft everything from conceptual models and user flows to detailed wireframes, interactive prototypes (Figma is your playground), and pixel-perfect mockups that communicate complex interactions with clarity and simplicity.
• Architect a World-Class Design System:
  Establish and evolve a scalable design system from the ground up, ensuring coherence, quality, and efficiency as our platform grows.
• Champion User-Centricity & Iteration:
  Drive a culture of rapid prototyping, testing, and learning. Continuously refine the product based on real feedback and emerging insights.
• Bridge Design, Product & Engineering:
  Ensure seamless integration between design artifacts (Figma) and product requirements (Jira), fostering clear communication and shared understanding across disciplines.
• Stay Ahead of the Curve:
  Actively research and synthesize market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies in identity, security, networking, and UX to inform our design strategy.
• Facilitate Clarity:
  Co-lead workshops, design sprints, and feedback sessions to align teams and accelerate decision-making.

What You Bring (The Profile of an A-Player):

• Proven Impact:
  You have a significant track record (likely 12+ years, but impact matters more than time) designing and shipping complex, successful products, ideally with experience across both enterprise and consumer domains. Your portfolio demonstrates not just visual polish, but deep problem-solving and measurable results.
• Figma Mastery & Systems Thinking:
  You're an expert in Figma and possess a profound understanding of building and maintaining robust design systems.
• First-Principles Thinking:
  You excel at breaking down complex, novel problems into their fundamental components and designing solutions from the ground up, grounded in user-centered principles.
• Exceptional Craftsmanship:
  You demonstrate mastery in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design, with an ability to create clarity from complexity.
• Technical Acumen:
  You understand web/mobile technologies and can effectively collaborate with engineers, understanding the implications of technical constraints on design.
• Influence & Communication:
  You articulate design rationale clearly and persuasively, presenting concepts effectively to peers, leadership, and technical audiences.
• Bias for Action:
  You prototype rapidly, test assumptions quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where learning and iterating are constant.
• Resilience & Drive:
  You are energized by audacious goals and undeterred by the inevitable challenges of building something truly disruptive.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Designed platform products, developer tools, or network-based applications.
• Experience with identity management (IAM), security concepts, or cryptography.
• Experience designing for data-intensive applications or data visualization.
• Deep understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
• Successfully navigated the organized chaos of a high-growth startup environment.
