Job Responsibilities
Midlands Technical College is looking for a skilled Trades Specialist. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and HVAC. Must be able to use trade tools and equipment. Must have extensive knowledge of state- of the art HVAC controls and ability to operate personal phone and computer in conjunction with these controls. Must be able to obtain EPA certification in CFC refrigerant recovery. Required skills may be acquired in vocational school, trade school, or by on the job training. Must be familiar with OSHA safety polices and procedures such as LOTO, arc flash, ladder safety, fall protection, etc.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Must have and maintain a valid SC Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in HVAC, electrical or other trade. Proficiency in using trade tools and equipment for building maintenance. Familiarity with typical equipment used in routine maintenance. Knowledge of OSHA safety policies and procedures as they relate to building maintenance. EPA certification.
