Join Our Caring Team as a Registered Nurse in Women's Services!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our Women's Services Department. In this vital role, you will utilize the nursing process to support patients facing a variety of obstetrical, gynecological, and newborn situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality care to obstetrical patients, effectively triaging and addressing life-threatening conditions.
Monitor and support patients during labor, including the induction process, delivery, and post-delivery care for both mother and newborn.
Admit and prepare gynecological patients for surgery while ensuring comprehensive post-operative care.
Assess newborns for anomalies and coordinate transfers to higher-level care when necessary.
Educate mothers and families on newborn care practices, ensuring a smooth transition home.
Reporting Structure:
You will report directly to the Director of the Women's Center.
Qualifications:
Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Minimum one year of experience in Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Postpartum, or GYN Departments as an RN is strongly preferred.
Licenses/Certifications Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire.
Fetal Monitoring certification within 6 months of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
Active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of VA or eligibility to take the NCLEX exam.
