Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Surgical Pathologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi and North Central Bronx .

Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds.

The Department of Pathology at Jacobi Medical Center is seeking and attending pathologist for the Division of Anatomic Pathology.
The Division of Anatomic Pathology at Jacobi Medical Center is CAP-accredited, includes 6 pathologists and has a surgical pathology volume of 13,000 specimens / year.
The successful candidate must have strong surgical pathology skills, be Board eligible / certified in anatomic pathology and hold a New York State license at the time of proposed employment.
Additional fellowship training and experience in hematopathology or cytopathology is desirable.
Responsibilities includes :

Diagnostic evaluation of surgical pathology specimens, frozen sections, conferences / tumor board and sign out of autopsies.
Review and sign out surgical pathology biopsies, excision, and resection cases.
Review and sign out cytopathology cases.
Prioritize malignant cases and submit all first-time malignant cases for daily intradepartmental consensus conference for peer review and concordance.
Complete cases in the required turnaround time (TAT) atNYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi
Participate in internal / external quality assurance, performance improvement activities and programs, and departmental meetings, and facility-wide training as needed.
Involve in processing of surgical pathology service management and quality improvement.
Instruct residents on service of general surgical pathology and cytopathology.
Participate in other clinical activities as requested by service director.
Qualifications
Board certified by American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology or AP / CP pathology
Completed Fellowship in Hematopathology (preferred)
Must qualify for NY Medical License
Wages and Benefits Include :

Annual Base Salary :
$245,912

Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional / per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $366,023

Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional / per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous years average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.

Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings.

After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings.
