SUMMARY
Join our team as a Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist and play a vital role in assisting physicians with diagnosis and treatment through accurate performance of clinical laboratory analyses. We provide top-notch patient care in a welcoming and compassionate environment at Massena Hospital.
STATUS: Per Diem
LOCATION: Massena Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Laboratory Services
SCHEDULE: Primarily days; 8-hour shifts
BS in Medical Technology or BS in a related Science and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Previous experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory a benefit, but not required
New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, required
Certification by ASCP preferred, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately perform testing in a timely manner
Interpret and correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results
Communicate stat and critical lab results and prolonged instrument malfunctions causing delays in test results to medical personnel
Teach in the School of Medical Technology and Lab rotations when called upon to do so
EDUCATION: BS in Medical Technology or related Science and/or equivalent relevant experience
