Ultrasound Technologist

About Facility:
- 1130 Tree of Life Lane, Cornelius, NC 28031
- Licensed Beds: 35
  - ED: 8
  - ICU: 4
  - Med/Tele: 20
  - Labor/Delivery: 4 LDRs; 9 Mother Baby
  - No Trauma designation
- Facility offers X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound and MRI imaging services
- No Trauma Designation
- Not a Teaching Hospital
- Not a Chest Pain Center
- Not currently Stroke accredited
- Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
Department Information:
- Department performs an average of 30 studies/weekday and 14 studies on weekends
  - Outpatients are scheduled on weekends
- Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years as an Ultrasound Tech
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- Department will serve ED, Inpatient, Observation, and Outpatient patients
- Will perform Ultrasound guided invasive procedures
Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
- Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) required.
- BLS
Skills required:
- Invasive procedures such as paracentesis/thoracentesis. General and vascular studies including, but not limited to, upper and lower arterial, upper and lower venous, venous insufficiency, temporal arteries, upper and lower extremity vein mapping, AVF mapping, pseudoaneurysm eval, carotid, liver doppler, renal artery, liver/renal transplant, aorta, appendix, intussusception, pyloric, breast limited (r/o abscess only), testicular, soft tissue and hernia evaluation.
Support within the Department:
- Sonographer is responsible for transporting patients, there is no transportation team in the facility.
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: EPIC
- RIS: Epic Radiant
- PACS: Philips iSite
- Department specific Equipment:
  - Siemens Sequoia's
  - Trophon
Floating: If yes, where?
- Will the traveler be required to float to other facilities? No
Orientation (facility and unit):
- Administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review, etc.) - 1 day
- Remainder of first week department specific training.
Scheduling:
- Weekends: discussed during interview
- No call
- Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work holidays that fall within their schedule.
- RTO: Manager approval
- Shift times: Variable
