Responsibilities

Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The Med/Surg RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients across various medical and surgical units.

Shift: Full Time Days 7 am to 7pm

Sign on bonus: Up to $20,000 (paid out every 90 days until 2 years)

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on the medical-surgical unit, adhering to established protocols and standards.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients with diverse medical conditions and post-surgical needs.
• Monitor and document patients' conditions, vital signs, and progress accurately and promptly.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.

2. BCLS upon hire and maintain current.

3. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.

4. ACLS within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
