Pathology Surgical

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine in conjunction with IU Health Physicians, are expanding its team as it transitions to a subspecialized service.
The department is seeking to jointly recruit surgical pathologists with subspecialist expertise in Gastrointestinal pathology, to join its faculty.
Those experienced in a second subspeciality area or immunohistochemistry will be considered as well.
The Pathologists will be based at the IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL) located in downtown Indianapolis.
The Pathology team serves 10 hospitals within the IU Health Network and Eskenazi Health.
Anatomic pathology is currently comprised of 55 pathologists, with this expansion plan adding additional subspecialized pathologists.
The academic rank of the appointment will be determined by qualifications and level of experience.

Responsibilities
Deliver professional diagnostic services within anatomic pathology
Provide on-call coverage and conference support with department faculty members
Actively participate in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows

Qualifications:
Must be board certified in anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology
Must be qualified for licensure in the state of IN
MD, DO or equivalent education
Ideal candidate has three to five years of post-fellowship experience

The IU Health Pathology Laboratory resides in a 150,000-square-foot dedicated central laboratory building in downtown Indianapolis with first-class facilities.
The lab processes over 100,000 cases per year, and houses an electron microscopy laboratory, eight full-time certified pathologists' assistants, twenty residents and eleven different fellowships.
