Summary About the Position:
This position is located at Reynolds Army Health Center in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available." Responsibilities Receive patients and initiate examination data recording in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Conduct screening diagnostic tests.
Set up equipment, orient patient, elects, perform, and document test results in the EMR.
Measure and record specifications of spectacles using manual and automated lensometer.

US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes documenting ocular and vision complaints; conducting screening diagnostic tests, such as visual acuity, autorefraction, or intraocular pressure; performing lensometry of spectacles; training insertion, removal, and careof contact lenses.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service(GS-05).
OR Education:
A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Optometry or Ophthalmology.
NOTE:
You Must provide a copy of transcripts.
OR Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9.
Add the two percentages.
Education FOREIGN EDUCATION:
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S.
accredited college or university.

Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

This position does not provide guaranteed work hours each week, and work will be assigned on an intermittent "as needed basis." This position will NOT lead to a full-time position.

A temporary position is time limited and may be extended in one year increments to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment.
Term Positions:
A term position is time-limited and may be extended to a maximum of eight years.

The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
Position may be designated as Emergency Essential.
