Job Summary:
Assists in the credit/collection process, providing analytical support for credit risk management and month-end reporting to corporate management. Works closely with the customer portfolio on payments to be processed. Reviews incoming customer orders, analyzes customer’s Accounts Receivable account balance, status, and trends, and researches and reconciles customer deductions and disputes in conformance with company policy. Maintains strong professional relationships with the assigned customer portfolio.
Position may include receiving and placing telephone calls, performing data entry, maintaining customer relationships, conducting data analytics, and handling credit and deductions processes.
Position Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze customer accounts to meet Accounts Receivable, DSO, and Collection goals.
• Research and analyze internal and external reports for assigned customer portfolio to determine the release of incoming orders in accordance with company credit risk policies and procedures to minimize risk exposure.
• Interface with Customer Care, Pricing, Traffic, and Sales departments to resolve customer issues in a timely manner regarding invoices, terms, pricing, and shipping errors.
• Initiate customer charge-back letters.
• Conduct collection calls/emails to ensure timely payments, reduction of past due balances, resolution of claims/discrepancies, and reduction of bad-debt write-offs.
• Prepare month-end reports and customer-specific projects.
• Participate in monthly Accounts Receivable overview meetings.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable and customer service.
• High school education or GED required.
• Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Outlook.
• This role requires working with a computer screen, keyboard, and mouse, in conjunction with operating a telephone.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to handle difficult or challenging credit/collection situations with diplomacy, tact, and professionalism.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Education: Bachelors Degree
