Warehouse Expediter (Seasonal)

Tracking Code 1390-990 *GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE*

An expeditor is responsible for the coordination and productivity of all warehouse functions including vessel discharge, inventory sorting, quality control sorting,warehouse consolidation, and truck loading. The expeditor is required to prioritize activities, coordinate and organize loading activities in a productive and timely manner in order to facilitate an efficient and cost effective warehouse operation.

*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION*

Analyze receiving and shipping productivity, monitor inventory levels, and maintain FIFO (first in first out) requirements.

* Organize truck loading activities with truck drivers, forklift operators and load checker.

* Monitor productivity of the truck loading process, resolve issues and other problems including escalating problems that require additional support.

* Monitor warehouse conditions including, temperature, and humidity and ethylene levels.

* Assist Quality Control department with box pulling sampling and air testing as needed.

* Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.

* Compile data or documentation.

* Confer with coworkers to coordinate work activities.

* Coordinate operational activities.

* Coordinate shipping activities with external parties.

* Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that manifest information is correct and product is in good condition

*EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION*

* High School diploma or GED required.

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*

* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

*WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT*

* Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays required.
