We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Financial Controller to join our Finance Team. This role manages a team, and reports into our Finance Director APAC. The role is based in East Tamaki, Auckland.
PURPOSE:
Direct, control and administer the financial activities of MiTek NZ, providing the Finance Director APAC with financial assessments and information in a timely fashion to ensure planning and budgeting activities meet corporate goals.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Lead and mentor a small team.
Establish and direct the organisation's financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure the organisation's profits are protected.
Direct and control all financial planning and provide financial advice to the Director APAC and local senior managers.
Perform the role of Company Secretary, ensuring that activities related to the function comply with relevant Acts, legal demands and ethical standards.
Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of financial accounting and related ERP systems.
Direct the collection of financial and accounting information and prepare budgets, reports, forecasts and financial statements.
Coordinate the design, implementation and monitoring of up-to-date or computerised accounting and administrative systems.
Provide taxation advice to Director APAC, and prepare the necessary company returns.
Evaluate the financial aspects of proposed acquisitions, investments, mergers, or the sale of assets or businesses.
Provide accurate and timely financial reports when required to the parent company and senior management.
Give assessments of proposals involving financial expenditure and of the financial status of operational projects.
Control activities such as taxation, credit policy, cash flow and investment policy, costing and expense control.
Represent the organisation in dealings with the organisation's bankers, legal advisers and others as required.
Perform other reasonable duties as required.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Responsibility for the financial management of MiTek NZ, including accountability for financial return on resources, analysis and reporting systems
Providing a high standard of financial information and advice to the Finance Director, other senior managers and US Corporate office.
Ensure full legal compliance of all financial reporting and tax requirements
Excellent communication skills for liaising with staff at all levels and external advisors.
Ability to work independently managing multiple responsibilities with attention to detail.
A strategic mindset with well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Recognised Accounting degree and CA/CPA Qualified.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards.
Proficient in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
Experience in accounting, financial and employee management at senior level.
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Experience with different ERP systems such as NetSuite/Oracle/SAP/QAD is advantageous.
