Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.
ROLESUMMARY
This role will support customers global manufacturing strategy and deliver world class facility solutions through product implementation programmes, technology innovation and legacy facility improvement projects.
T&PPG/BIW/PaintFacilitiesConveyorTeamareresponsibleforintroductionofnewfacilities,materialsproductlinesandnew/currentvehiclefresheningprogramsintocustomersSolihullsite.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Assessfeasibilityofnewfacilitiesandprocesses,developmentandmanagementofprojectsforcost,qualityandtiming
Supporttheareabyprovidingtherequiredcapabilityandcapacityatcustomer'sfacilitiesandsupportingequipment,alignedtotheprogrammemilestones,launchplansandproductionrequirements.
Complete feasibility and cost evaluations for proposed new or modified facilities and processes define robust delivery plans with minimised disruption to operations.
Developengineeringsolutionsthataresuitedtothecapabilitiesofappropriatefacilityanditsassociatedprocesscharacteristicsasdirected.
Developrobust/leanlayoutsolutionstosupportfacilityprojectdeliveryorprocess/operationalefficiencyimprovements.
ManageContractorsinstrictaccordancewiththecustomer'sControlofContractorsprocedures.
Manage,maintainanddevelopallHealth,SafetyandOperationalRiskManagementprocessesandsite-specificprocessesandsystemsatthearea.
Contribute to the on-going Environmental Innovation and Reporting (Energy, Water, Waste) compliance with customer's standards.
Co-ordinatethesupportandinputofallrelevantstakeholderstoachieveacceptance,buy-offandsuccessfulhandoverofnewormodifiedfacilities.
WorkcloselywithManufacturingandotherEngineeringdisciplinestodeliverprograms&facilityprojectstocosttargetsandtiming.
Provide a Manufacturing Engineering support role to Plant personnel as a member of cross-functional teams for problem solving and continuous improvement activities with regard to Safety, Quality & Cost
BeresponsibleformanagementoffacilitydocumentationontheprojectstheyworkoninlinewithManufacturingEngineeringprocedures,supportingTS,ISO,SHARP,LQOS&FPSinternalandexternalaudits.
Lead&partakeinmultifunctionalNewEquipmentProcurementTeamsthroughallprojectphasesensuringcompanyprocurementproceduresaremet&adheredto.
TrackprojectbasedKPI's&makereadyforreportouttodepartmentalmanageronaweeklybasis.
Undertakeanyotherworkasdirectedbytheirlinemanagerinconnectionwiththeirjobasmayberequested

A sound engineering and manufacturing background with previous experience in Facilities Development and Engineering.

Experience of reliability and maintainability principals and an understanding of the environmental impacts of engineering solutions.
DegreequalifiedorequivalentEngineeringexperiencepreferred.
Abilitytocontrol&Managesuppliers(bothMaterial&Equipment).
Abilitytocontrol&manageprojectbudgets.
Haveaworkingknowledgeoftheapplicationofleanmanufacturingtoolsandtechniques.
Havetheabilitytoworkunsupervised(attimes)toasetofobjectives&targets.
Mustbeflexiblewithregardtoworkinghoursasrolerequiresafterhours,weekend&Shutdownworkingdeliveringobjectives&targets.
ExperienceofdeliveringbothoperationalandstrategictransactionalandFacilitiesManagementsolutionsacrossanarrayofengineeringsites,buildingsandcustomertypes.
ExperiencewithintheFacilitiesdevelopmentacrossavarietyofindustriesandgeographies.
Contractandperformancemanagementexperience.
GoodworkingknowledgeofCDMregulations.
HavepreviousexperienceofSupplierselectionandtendermanagement.
Haveaworkingknowledgeofelectricalcontrolsystemsemployedwithautomatedequipment&conveyorequipment.
