Girl Guides is a catalyst for girls empowering girls. We provide girls age 5-17 with the opportunity to try new experiences, challenge themselves and build their confidence, all within a safe environment. Our volunteers help deliver a unique program that encourages girls to build life skills in outdoor adventure, financial literacy, mental health, advocacy and more. Description of Duties:
Girl Guides of Canada is looking for Unit Guiders in Manitoba. We empower young girls and women to be everything they want to be, and as a volunteer, you will help make that happen! Our volunteers support girls as they build confidence, develop new skills and become leaders in their communities. As part of a unit's leadership team, you'll facilitate fun and engaging program activities, like scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, games and more. No experience is necessary, all training and resources are provided. You can choose to work with a specific branch:
Sparks (age 5-6), Embers (age 7-8), Guides (age 9-11), Pathfinders (age 12-14) or Rangers (age 15-17). We have units in most neighborhoods, so you'll be matched with one close by to your home or work, that meets on a day you are available. Volunteers commit to 3 hours per week for unit meetings plus additional hours, when required, for trips and events. Join our team - -

Skills Required:

  1. All volunteers must have reached the age of majority in their province or territory.
  2. Pass a Police Record Check facilitated by Girl Guides of Canada.
  3. Complete organizational training components on safety, the role and administrative duties, as part of the volunteer onboarding process.

  1. Fun - you'll share lots of laughter and new experiences.
  2. Rewarding - cheer girls on and watch their confidence grow.
  3. Life-changing - develop skills such as communication, event planning and leadership.
  4. Unforgettable - connect with women leaders in your community and around the world.
