• You are client-centered, target co-creation, and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• You have strong verbal/written communication skills
• You use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making clinical decisions
• You have demonstrated commitment to professional development
• Qualifications:
• You have a University Degree in Occupational Therapy
• You are a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
• You have a valid Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
• A minimum of 1 year of general OT mental health experience
• Completion of at least one of the following courses: CBT, ACT, DBT (please note if you do not have this there is opportunity to take one of the following courses in your first year with FA)
• What is a day in the life of a FA Occupational Therapist?
• You will assess and treat individuals suffering from various neurological, orthopedic disorders, mental health and injuries
• You will assist clients with establishing and meeting meaningful goals within their home and in a community setting
• You will create and implement individualized treatment plans based on occupational analysis and clinical reasoning
• You will liaise with a variety of community partners and rehab professionals to facilitate client goals and independence
• You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions and establishing personal networks
