Are you self-driven, customer-oriented and a team player? Preston Phipps is looking for an important new member of our team in the role of Technical Inside Sales that has all these qualities. This position is office based at our Central Canada office in Mississauga, ON.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the product sales for a line of technical products, ideally in mechanical. They will have inside sales and/or technical support and/or project coordination experience and show an aptitude for supporting the outside sales team and helping customers to prepare proposals and process orders. Responsibilities

Being a hub for quote development and order processing to coordinate between the outside sales team, suppliers and other internal divisions.
Coordinating projects from product selection to coordinating delivery.
Collaborating with outside sales to support customers and keep the sales opportunities advancing towards close.
Contributing to our improvement initiatives to enhance the customer experience and free our sales team up to spend more time with customers.
Checking or making product selections based on given performance parameters, sometimes in collaboration with outside engineering consultants.
Support large project takeoffs by preparing construction documents and possibly completing a pre-qualification with the outside sales representative.
Utilizing price books, configurators, and suppliers to price equipment.
Creating project cost sheets for review before quoting.
Preparing small quotes to large project proposals for customers.
Processing purchase orders, including reviewing terms and conditions.
Preparing and issuing shop drawings and other technical documents as needed.
Tracking document flow, order progression and delivery scheduled on projects.
Working with contractors to coordinating delivery on special orders.
Managing returns and supporting service for warranty and maintenance.
Work with software P21 (ERP system) for order entry, and tracking.
Work with CRM to track communications with customers.

Qualifications

Mechanical or Chemical Engineering technologist or bachelor's degree
Eligible to work in Canada
2+ years of industry related experience
Experience on a technical support and/or customer service and/or project coordination type team.
Experience with mechanical equipment or HVAC
Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ERP (we use P21)
A strong technical aptitude and ability/desire to learn more about our products and their applications.
Be a strong self-learner.
Be organized and accustomed to documenting work and planning your time.
Be self-motivated to get the job done and support the customer.
Team oriented with strong relationship building skills.
Creative problem-solving and conflict management skills.
Solid communication (both verbal and written).
