Administrative Officer (Information Management Technical Analyst) - Technology Branch

CUPE is welcoming applications for the position of Administrative Officer (Information Management Technical Analyst), for the CUPE-Wide Information Management (IM) Solution, to work from the Technology Branch of the Finance and Administration Department at the National Office of the Canadian Union of Public Employees located in Ottawa, Ontario.

GENERAL FUNCTION

As a member of the Technology Branch and under the guidance of the Senior Officer for Information Technology (IT) Systems and Solutions, the successful candidate will focus on the technical components and elements of the underlying architecture of and automation within the CUPEDocs solution, ensuring its sustainability, system capacity, performance, and technical currency.
Additionally, this role oversees the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of CUPE's Intranet (CUPEConnect).

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

  1. Oversee all automated solutions related to CUPEDocs and CUPEConnect, including new MS Teams requests, CUPEDocs requests, automated membership lists, and the MS Teams registry.
  2. Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of the CUPEDocs and CUPEConnect solutions, as well as the Microsoft PowerPlatform.
  3. Handle file migrations (OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams) for large volumes of files requiring specialized migration tools.
  4. Support technical requests from escalated service desk tickets or from Information Leads and Content Publishers related to CUPEDocs or CUPEConnect.
  5. Assist the CUPEDocs team in maintaining current solutions and developing new ones based on SharePoint, Teams, and the PowerPlatform.
  6. Review IM project deliverables, provide feedback, and troubleshoot issues with users and project teams.
  7. Collaborate on testing, training, and analyzing user feedback for the CUPEDocs solution.
  8. Monitor and report on usage, storage, compliance, and system performance of CUPEDocs and CUPEConnect.
  9. Assist in developing, testing, and managing retention and disposition processes.
  10. Work with IM consultants to transfer knowledge to CUPE IT staff.
  11. Develop strategies for access, consolidation, collaboration, and retention of information, proposing automation solutions.
  12. Coordinate with the Technology Branch, IT service desk, and Microsoft to report, analyze, and resolve issues and bugs.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in an IT discipline with knowledge of current IM principles and practices.
  • Understanding of trade union values and principles.
  • Relevant MS certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-300, PL-900) are assets.
  • At least eight years of experience with Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Experience with M365 administration, configuration, SharePoint, Teams, Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerShell, and ShareGate.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to influence and work independently with minimal supervision.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

As outlined in the collective agreement between CUPE and the Canadian Staff Union National Office Component.

WEEKLY SALARY RANGE

$2,507.19 to $2,562.39
