NHC has recently launched The Nunavut 3000 Strategy, a collaboration between the government and its partners to deliver 3,000 new units across the housing continuum by 2030.
Reporting to the Director, Policy and Strategic Planning, the Senior Policy Analyst plays a lead role in developing, coordinating, and managing strategic planning, policies, and procedures of the Nunavut Housing Corporation.
This position is key to achieving the division's goals by staying informed on current housing issues and trends, analyzing relevant research, and sharing this information appropriately.
The Senior Policy Analyst ensures the Policy and Planning Division provides the necessary support for the Directorate Office to oversee the Corporation's operations effectively.
Responsibilities include developing and reviewing guidelines, policies, legislation, and producing high-quality briefing materials for the Corporate Executive Committee, the NHC Board of Directors, Executive Council, and the Financial Management Board.
They will support the Director by assessing proposed policies and programs, analyzing potential impacts, and recommending modifications.
The incumbent will liaise with national/international, provincial, and territorial governments, Inuit organizations, and other stakeholders in housing.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required include a degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Economics, Business, or Public Administration from a recognized institution, with at least three years of experience in public policy and program analysis.
Experience in a large organization or government, supervision, and leadership are assets.
Knowledge of housing markets is also beneficial.

Fluency in multiple official languages and knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, and Inuktut are assets.
Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment is also valued.
