Financial Coordinator
This is a part time permanent position (approximately 25 hours per week).
Innovative LIFE Options (LIFE) provides people with an intellectual disability the opportunity to direct their best life through our innovative services, supports and programs.
LIFE is a not-for profit organization that provides facilitation and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their supporters funded through the In the Company of Friends (ICOF) model.
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for connecting with individuals within ICOF and their support networks assisting to develop monthly budgets in accordance with provincial guidelines, analyze quarterly financial statements, organizing pension benefits applications, as well as providing general financial guidance and assistance as needed.
The Financial Coordinator is also responsible for the payroll process for the LIFE team, the administration of the organizations health plan and the pension and benefit process for this team.
The FC provides and ensures consistent, timely, and accurate financial management and administration.
This position works closely with all members of the LIFE team, government representatives and community members.
The successful candidate must have educational background and/or work experience in the finances, must have excellent financial skills in budgeting, forecasting, operating-statement analysis, analytic reasoning, as well as above average skills in written and oral communication, ability to work with others.
Well developed computer skills are a must.
A working knowledge and ability to develop and analyze spreadsheets, use excel, QuickBooks, Adobe and other financial tools.
Experience in, or a commitment to community living for individuals with disabilities is an asset.
