The role involves providing accurate, timely, and complete clinical data to support program evaluation, service utilization, and patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities include analyzing, coding, abstracting, and reporting health information for Iqaluit Health Services.The incumbent provides guidance to all Health Information Management professionals and offers expertise in clinical data compilation and reporting for hospital admissions.
The role includes developing guidelines for centralized control of record transfers between the Department of Health and other agencies, ensuring privacy and confidentiality compliance.The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved Health Information Management program, a certified member of the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), with at least two years of related experience.
Experience with Meditech is a definite asset.Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages (Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English, French) is an asset.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is also considered an asset.
Equivalencies combining education and experience may be considered.An eligibility list may be created to fill future vacancies.The Government of Nunavut is committed to creating a more representative workforce.
