Role Overview:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the chemical manufacturing process, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising laboratory and production staff to meet customer demands, deadlines, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience in chemical production, laboratory operations, and ERP system management, and a deep understanding of ISO 17025/17034 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Management

• Prepare production sheets for the manufacturing of:
  
• Single elements for ICP standards.
• Bulk aqueous standards (pH, conductivity, etc. ).
• Manage the entire product line for COD tubes.
• Prepare solutions for Celine and ensure that all production steps comply with Fisher requirements.
• Manage ERP reports related to inorganic standards and ensure accurate production tracking.
• Assign tasks to laboratory staff based on production needs and priority levels.
• Oversee daily operations to meet customer requirements, including deadlines and quality standards, through a consistent presence on the production floor.
• Ensure timely completion of production schedules and optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce delays.
• Ensure the timely release of finished products in alignment with planned schedules.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Approve and follow up on early release requests while ensuring product integrity.
• Investigate quality issues and implement preventive and corrective actions as necessary.
• Act to achieve operational efficiency objectives by identifying process improvement opportunities.
• Implement corrective actions in response to quality complaints.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025/17034 standards and participate in audits and quality control initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards related to production.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Apply and enforce health and safety regulations while assessing potential risks associated with chemical products.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

• Close and finalize job orders for rush requests when needed.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations for production employees.
• Approve employee time sheets (Pay works) for the inorganic production team.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Mandatory Chemistry Degree (Bachelor's in Chemistry or equivalent).
• Membership in the Ordre des Chimistes du Québec (OCQ) strongly preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical production at a manufacturing site.
• Experience in chemical production and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of ICP standards, aqueous standard preparation, and COD tube manufacturing.
• Proficiency in ERP systems for production tracking and reporting.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025/17034 compliance and quality assurance processes.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle production scheduling and prioritization.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

This role is critical to ensuring high-quality chemical production while maintaining operational efficiency, product compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Production Supervisor will play a key role in leading a high-performance team, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement in the manufacturing environment.

Le Superviseur de Production est responsable de la gestion des opérations quotidiennes de fabrication chimique, garantissant l'efficacité de la production, le contrôle qualité et la conformité aux réglementations de sécurité. Ce poste implique la planification, la coordination et la supervision du personnel de laboratoire et de production afin de répondre aux exigences des clients, aux délais et aux normes de qualité.

Le candidat idéal possède de solides compétences en leadership, une expérience en production chimique, gestion de laboratoire et utilisation des systèmes ERP, ainsi qu'une excellente connaissance des normes ISO 17025/17034.

Planification et Gestion de la Production

Préparer les fiches de production pour la fabrication de :

• Éléments individuels pour les standards ICP.
• Standards aqueux en vrac (pH, conductivité, etc. ).
• Gérer l'ensemble de la gamme de produits pour les tubes COD.
• Préparer les solutions pour Celine et s'assurer que toutes les étapes de production respectent les exigences de Fisher.
• Gérer les rapports ERP relatifs aux standards inorganiques et assurer un suivi précis de la production.
• Attribuer les tâches au personnel de laboratoire en fonction des besoins et des priorités de production.
