The successful candidate will have duties such as but not limited to:

Financial Reporting and Analysis

1. Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
2. Completing the monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses for multiple companies.
3. Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules.
4. Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
5. Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.

Process Improvements

1. Creating a Standard Operating Procedure Manual for accounting policies, regulations, and reconciliation procedures.
2. Become super user on accounting systems, offer suggestions for improvement.

Audit and Compliance

1. Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
2. Investigating and resolving account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance.
3. Preparing federal, provincial, and special tax returns.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. CPA (or nearing completion).
2. 3+ years of accounting experience with the proven ability to support several departments within the Company.
3. Working knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, budgetary processes, and ERP implementation.
4. Strong organizational and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
5. Effective communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
6. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
7. Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems.
8. Experience in a leadership role which includes supervising, training, and managing entry-level staff.
9. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
