Senior Electrical Field Services Technician/Technologist/Engineer
Magna IV Engineering is an electrical engineering and technical field services firm established in 1982 in Edmonton, Alberta. Since this time, Magna IV has grown steadily and now has offices in both North and South America, and has completed projects in six continents.
Magna IV has become the Canadian leader in the delivery of testing and technical field services to the electrical power system sector and is one of the largest testing and commissioning firms in Canada. This has been accomplished by developing our capabilities in maintenance commissioning and turnkey services. These core services are complimented by our expertise in engineering, manufacturing and electrical equipment sales.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate or Senior Field Services Technician/Technologist/Engineer in Location TBD. Reporting to a Client Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable to lead project teams and field projects; ultimately creating superior client experiences through commissioning, repair and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment.
Service Scope
~ Equipment upgrades as well as maintenance, testing and commissioning services for commercial, industrial and utility
Develop client relationships through client interface on site
Identify service opportunities for clients and communicate them to Managers
Job Preparation & Planning
~ Ensure all equipment and materials are available for projects
On site, hands-on work, as required
Provide project status updates to Manager
Escalate awareness of issues and concerns on projects within a timely manner to Manager
Develop site strategy and adjust timelines
Responsible for site quality and document reviews
Meet and review project execution with Manager
Complete technical reviews and generate reports
Support invoicing to ensure inclusion of applicable extras for work performed
Provide feedback to Managers on project execution and employee performance onsite
Integrate junior employees into projects in a safe manner
Ensure all safety policies are adhered to at all times
3+ years experience as an Electrical Technologist / Field Technician / Power System Electrician / Electrical Engineer
~ Hands-on field experience commissioning, testing or maintaining power delivery equipment, including breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers.
~ Broad knowledge in commercial, industrial and utility environments
~ Electrical Engineering degree, PSE (Power Systems Electrician) or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) and NETA certification is an asset
~ Must have a valid driver's license
~ Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
~ The ability to work flexible shifts, which include weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
