PART-TIME DISABILITY SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - WADALBA Part-time role Build strong connections with people with disability to provide quality support and achieve positive outcomes Ideally suited to current casual staff OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Willing to work sleepover shifts.
Willingness to participate in shift work including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Required to hold an NSW Driver's License (P2/Full).
Willingness to drive a Unisson vehicle.
Required to hold a current First Aid Certificate.
High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude.
Emotional intelligence, resilience, and capacity to perform the work required.
Prior experience working with people with disabilities or in a similar role (desirable).
Certificate III and/or IV in Disability and prior experience (desirable).
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are looking for a motivated, caring, and suitably skilled person to provide support for clients with intellectual disabilities living in Wadalba.
Clients enjoy sensory activities, cooking, arts & crafts, spending time with families, and community activities.
They require support with complex behaviors and engaging in meaningful activities.
The responsibilities include:
Supporting and encouraging clients to participate in activities within the home and community.
Supporting clients with personal care as per their person-centred plan.
Using manual handling techniques specified in each client's plan.
Transporting clients to appointments or activities.
Respecting clients' dignity, cultural background, and beliefs when interacting with them and their families.
Developing, implementing, and reviewing clients' plans and behavior support strategies.
Working co-operatively as part of a team and respecting colleagues.
Responding to incidents and injuries according to policies and standards.
