About the Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to join our Proprietary Products team in the role of Finance Commercial Analyst.

The location of this role is flexible and can be based out of either our Docklands, Melbourne or Macquarie Park, Sydney offices.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for all areas of Commercial Management including budgeting, forecasting and management accounting for the Proprietary Products Group.
This role provides management accounts and regular analysis to assist the Head of Procurement & Proprietary Products Group and Loveland Plant Nutrition Business Lead.
It also has a strategic lens, with a focus on P&L and Balance Sheet forecasting and ongoing optimisation of financial results, together with providing decision support to the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

Act as a Finance Business Partner to the Proprietary Products Group, providing financial oversight and strategic guidance to support decision-making and growth initiatives.

Lead and coordinate P&L and Balance Sheet forecasting, ensuring ongoing optimisation of financial results.

Prepare the budgets (including operating and capital expenditure), strategic plans, quarterly presentations, forecasts, monthly business narratives & 5YPlans for the Proprietary products group

Prepare, analyse, and explain variances between budgets, forecasts, and actual results, delivering insights through management reports.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., LAP team, Proprietary Products and senior management) to provide decision support, risk analysis, and commercial recommendations.

Assist in identifying potential exposures and proactively flagging risks and opportunities for the business.

Capex Management - Support the Senior commercial manager to undertake financial analysis of significant proposals and ensure accurate classification of spend.

Strategic Support - Support the Senior commercial manager to provide financial analysis and long-term modelling to support the build & execution of a growth strategy across priority activities as needed.

Profit Management - provide commercial advice & analysis that leads to effective and efficient capital usage, labour usage, Inventory margin management and overhead controls across the LAP group in conjunction with the LAP manufacturing & Finance Manager

About You:

Degree in Accounting/Commerce & professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA).

Demonstrated experience in a similar analytical accounting role with a solid foundation in technical accounting principles

Strong financial analysis and forecasting skills, particularly related to Profit & Loss (P&L) and balance sheet management.

Experience providing decision support and preparing management reports, including explaining budget variances and identifying business exposures.

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, as the role requires close partnership with leadership and other team members to support growth strategies and business decision-making.

Strong organizational skills to manage conflicting and changing priorities & ability to manage and prioritize high volume workloads

Previous experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Commercial accounting environments is highly desirable.

Previous experience working on an SAP/S4 is essential.
Experience with TM1 or similar reporting platform is beneficial

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with financial modelling and long-term planning.
