Job Summary:
We seek a highly motivated and analytical Business Planning Analyst to join our FP&A team in the streaming industry. This role bridges Finance, Business Intelligence, and key business units such as Growth, Marketing, and Advertising, ensuring seamless collaboration and data-driven decision-making. The analyst will evaluate business performance, deliver insights, develop business cases, and identify performance improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Case Development:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prepare, and present comprehensive business cases for new initiatives, projects, and investments. Analyze financial and operational data to forecast impact and ROI.
Business Plans and Models:
Develop detailed business plans and financial models, including revenue forecasts, cost-benefit analyses, and customer lifetime value models. Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses.
Performance Review and Analysis:
Monitor financial and operational performance, identify key issues and trends, and provide actionable insights. Track metrics like churn, subscriber growth, ARPU, and CAC, linking trends to outcomes. Define success metrics, track performance monthly, and collaborate with BI for reporting.
Collaboration with BI Team:
Translate business needs into data requirements, review reports, validate data accuracy, and resolve discrepancies.
Collaboration with Business Teams:
Build relationships with teams like Growth, Marketing, and B2B, providing tailored insights, translating analytics into presentations, and supporting strategic decisions.
Financial and Operational Insights:
Contribute to financial reviews, support budgeting and forecasting, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Data Quality and Issue Resolution:
Ensure data integrity, address issues impacting decision-making, and collaborate on data governance best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, data analytics, or related; advanced degree preferred.
3+ years in business analysis, planning, or analytics, preferably in high-growth startups, streaming, or digital media industries.
Strong analytical skills, experience in business modeling, performance analysis, and business case development.
Proficiency in data visualization tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau), advanced Excel, and familiarity with financial planning software or ERPs.
Experience with SQL and large datasets; knowledge of Python or certifications like CFA/FMVA are a plus.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex insights clearly.
Understanding of streaming industry KPIs and business drivers.
Proven ability to act as a bridge between business, BI, and Finance teams.
Data-driven mindset, passion for leveraging data to improve performance.
Ability to create detailed models and deliver impactful presentations.
