Financial Controller

to join the crypto arm of MultiBank Group - MultiBank.io.
Role overview:
As

Financial Controller , you will take full ownership of financial operations and reporting for MultiBank.io, ensuring the highest levels of compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. You will play a pivotal role in bridging finance and crypto operations, with responsibilities spanning taxation, treasury, payroll, financial reporting, and digital asset reconciliation. This role demands strong attention to detail, hands-on experience in crypto accounting, and the ability to manage a fast paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
Accounting and Taxation
Prepare monthly management accounts including Balance Sheet and P&L
Maintain and review general ledgers including monthly reconciliations and other ad-hoc reviews required to ensure the accuracy of information
Monitor cash flow and provide cash position to management on a weekly basis or when otherwise required
Monitor prompt and correct payment of creditors and efficient collection of debtors
Undertake continuous improvement and streamlining of business processes to ensure increased accuracy and efficiency including process documentation
Preparing monthly reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, debtors, payroll, inter-company transactions and prepayments
Attend to the processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Bank / Broker / Merchant Payment Account Posting & Reconciliation
Complete monthly revenue postings MT4, brokers & MEX Group
Provided financial support and advice to the business on all finance related matters
Daily Reconciliation of client liability as per MT4 reports
Prepare and lodge company tax return
Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS and monthly IAS
Ensure compliance with taxation requirements
Prepare and lodge annual payroll tax reconciliation
Daily reconciliation of crypto trade and settlement activity across multiple exchanges and custodians
Accounting for digital assets, including the classification of crypto assets, fee revenue, staking income, and revaluation entries
Track and report on realised and unrealised P&L from crypto positions, including conversion and hedging transactions
Ensure crypto-related financial statements and disclosures align with applicable regulatory and accounting standards
Oversee the reconciliation of fiat and crypto wallets, including internal treasury movements, client withdrawals, and cold wallet controls
Support trading operations by managing crypto settlement flows and wallet transaction verification
Coordinate with technology and compliance teams to ensure secure handling of digital assets and custody solutions
Statutory
Liaise with external auditors and ensure a smooth competition of annual audit
Prepare Statutory accounts
Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations
Prepare and lodge statutory reports relevant authorities
Payroll & Human Resource
Oversee the management, maintenance and preparation of weekly & monthly payroll including:
Processing and recording staff leave forms
Other irregular and contractor or single payments
Enter payroll information accurately and in a timely manner
Produce and review payroll reports and make any necessary adjustments including termination payments
Prepare payroll EFT's
Prepare staff payslips
Review and reconciliation of monthly payroll reports and preparation of journals.
Tax compliance work associated with payroll PAYG
Payment of superannuation contributions
Complete firm's annual payroll reconciliation and PAYG summaries
Monitor annual and sick leave and ensure that the necessary records are maintained
Banking & Other Merchant Facilities
Administrator and security officer for firm's banking and merchant payment facilities
Complete online payments on banking systems
Primary approval for payments on corporate payment & client withdrawals / transfers
Prepare weekly actual cash flow summary reports
Provide operational resource and technical competence on banking systems
Control cash flow and investment policy including term deposits
Provide support for trading client related treasury and banking related activities
Represent the organisation in dealings with the organisation's bankers as required.
Planning, Administration & Insurance
Attend to matters in relation to building management issues (Floor Fire Warden)
Oversee the Firm's insurances by liaising with the Insurance Broker including Workers Compensation
Developed and maintained relationships with vendors and service providers
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CA, or equivalent certification preferred)
5+ years of experience in financial control or accounting, preferably within

fintech, crypto, or financial services sectors
Proven experience in preparing monthly management accounts, including Balance Sheet and P&L
Experience with general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and inter-company transactions
Hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing
Demonstrated ability to perform daily crypto trade reconciliation and handle digital asset accounting
Proficiency in MT4 report reconciliation, revenue posting, and broker/platform reporting
Experience in tax preparation and lodgement, including BAS, IAS, company tax, and payroll tax
Strong background in payroll processing, including leave tracking, EFTs, superannuation, and PAYG
Familiarity with banking and merchant payment platforms, including cash flow reporting and client withdrawal processing
Ability to coordinate with auditors, prepare statutory accounts, and ensure regulatory compliance
Capable of overseeing insurance processes, managing vendor relationships, and addressing building operations
