One of our clients, a leading Bank in the United Arab Emirates, is looking for an AML/CFT Officer.
P.S - Emirati Nationals will be preferred for the role.
JOB TITLE AML/CFT Officer DEPARTMENT Compliance REPORTING TO AML/CFT Manager and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer ROLE SUMMARY The role holder is responsible for conducting a first level review of the alerts triggered as suspicious or unusual by the AML transaction monitoring system.
The role holder would need to determine whether to close the suspicion as a false positive or escalate the case as a potential genuine alert to the AML/CFT Investigations Senior Officers for further review.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Conduct an in-depth analysis as per the Bank's internal procedures of assigned AML alerts which have been triggered by the automated transaction monitoring system in order to identify genuine suspicious or unusual transactions.
Document the rationale and analysis of the review conducted by the role holder to justify the closure or escalation of the alert.
JOB CONTEXT The Bank has recently set up the AML/CFT Unit with a view to having a control framework to manage all financial crime related risks.
The jobholder is accountable for providing accurate and timely information to the AML/CFT team on all AML investigations and for ensuring compliance with relevant local and international laws.
To demonstrate integrity, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills in securities and/or banking industry compliance obtained through experience, specialized training and/or certification to monitor and investigate transactions for suspicious activity to ensure compliance with AML rules and regulations.
COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The jobholder is required to interact with all Departments/branches and functions of the Bank that may require advice (e.g.
Business Lines, Credit, Operations, and Branches etc.) DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB The job holder is required to analyze alerts, manage investigations, and take the necessary action, i.e.
file internal STRs.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree as a minimum from a recognized university.
Must have a background in investigations and a good understanding of AML Red flags.
Well versed with banking systems, concepts, banking best practices.
Certification in investigations or similar work.
EXPERIENCE Minimum of 1 years' experience in an AML/CFT Investigations role.

Planning and organizing skills.
Report writing skills.
Analytical skills.
