0.4 Hardware implementation for audio localization

In this section, we will go over the hardware implementation, including the TI TMS320C6211 DSK Board features and the microphone array.

To receive the signals, we decided to use the McBSP1 receive interrupt so we could read the values from our two 16 bitchannels simultaneously.

Microphone array

The microphones and the circuit

As shown in , we used two electret microphones spaced 10 cm apart. Each microphone was amplifiedwith identical non-inverting op-amp circuits ( LM386 ), as shown in . This circuit includes a low-voltage audio power amplifier and internal feedback withfixed gain.
