We will develop the idea of data transmission by first considering simple channels. In additional modules, we will considermore practical channels; baseband channels with bandwidth constraints and passband channels.
The concept of using different types of modulation for transmission of data is introduced in the module Signalling . The problem of demodulation and detection of signals is discussed in Demodulation and Detection .
