- Geometry: pythagorean theorem
The pythagoeran theorem
A right triangle is a triangle with a 90 degree angle. A 90 degree angle is typically the found on the corner of a box or the corner of a building. In a right triangle, the longest side is called the hypotenuse. It is also the side opposite the right angle. The other two sides are called legs. We generally use the letters a and b to denote the length of the legs and c for the length of the hypotenuse.
The Pythagorean Theoerem is:
a squared plus b squared equals c squared.
You can also remember: (leg) squared + (other leg) squared = (hypotenuse) squared
