Once the hub/disk assemblies are fitted to the stub axles it is possible to fit the front Girling 14LF brake calipers. The calipers are handed, and in the case of the Lotus Series 4 Seven (Type 60) are trailing. That is, they are positioned to the rear side of the disk ( [link] ).
Sliding the caliper over the disk, the caliper is held in place by two bolts with lock washers. It is important to ensure that the bleed nipple is to the top ( [link] ).
From [link] it is possible to see that the clearance between the disk and the inner edges of the body of the caliper are even. If they are not it may be necessary to space the caliper away from the hub, or worse thin the caliper mount.
