The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient-centered nursing care within Illinois Nurse Practice Act guidelines and manages daily office operations.
Reports to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities include collecting medical history, vital signs, and test results; documenting findings; serving as a patient advocate; making referrals; screening patient issues; providing home care and pre/postoperative instructions; administering treatments, irrigations, and medications (excluding IV blood/blood products); assisting physicians; orienting staff; offering emotional support; and ensuring confidentiality.
Performs procedures like cast application/removal, catheterization, suture removal, and dressing changes following infection control policies.
Completes pre-certifications, schedules procedures, and complies with safety and privacy policies.
Maintains knowledge through ongoing education and documentation.
Qualifications include an approved LPN program, current Illinois licensure, CPR certification within 30 days, and successful IV therapy training if applicable.
Works mainly in an office setting, balancing sitting and standing, with minimal lifting.
