This role involves overseeing the direction and flow of ongoing development work within the ServiceNow ecosystem-think of it as guiding sprints while also keeping a close eye on how all the pieces across the platform fit together.
It's important to be able to coordinate multiple moving parts (tech modules, services, teams) and ensure things move forward smoothly and in line with expectations.
It also means keeping strong communication lines open with stakeholders and knowing how to pivot when priorities shift.

There's a lot of cross-functional coordination, especially when managing various modules like SPM, Asset Management, IRM, SecOps, and Performance Analytics.
It helps to have a solid grip on Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), and even more so to understand how to actually implement these practices day-to-day-not just in theory.

The position balances high-level strategy (roadmaps, reporting, adoption, stakeholder alignment) with hands-on involvement (backlog refinement, risk mitigation, platform rollout, and optimization).
Being able to break down technical concepts and talk to non-technical folks in a way that makes sense to them is key.
There's also a good bit of facilitation-helping team members stay connected, motivated, and aligned on goals.

You'll need to be comfortable juggling competing priorities, coaching teams, and sometimes jumping in as the go-to person when issues escalate.
Experience working on enterprise-level ServiceNow implementations is essential-especially if you've worked in environments where security, risk, and compliance are a priority.

This opportunity is hybrid-remote with some in-person presence expected at the Alexandria, VA location (NSF site).
Having Public Trust clearance (or being eligible to obtain it) is a must.

Ideal background includes:

  • Around 5 years' experience navigating client needs and translating them into technical action plans
  • Hands-on involvement with ServiceNow development across complex enterprise environments
  • Strong familiarity with Agile practices and ability to lead within that framework
  • Track record with modules like SPM, IRM, Asset Management, SecOps, and more
  • Comfort guiding technical teams, managing risks, and reporting progress to leadership
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and visualization skills when communicating to various audiences
  • Ability to act as a connector-between teams, between vision and execution, between ideas and outcomes

The position is tied to a federal agency, so U.S.
work authorization is required, and background checks-including fingerprinting-are part of the onboarding process.
