Job Purpose
JVM Solutions is seeking a Part-Time Staff Accountant with the potential for full-time employment. This role will support our financial operations and contribute to the company's continued growth in government contracting services.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all entries.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements, maintaining detailed documentation of all reconciliations.
• Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes, including preparation of journal entries and account analyses.
• Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP standards. Support government contract compliance by maintaining accurate cost accounting records and ensuring proper allocation of expenses.
• Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits, including DCAA audits when applicable.
• Monitor project budgets and analyze variances, providing regular financial updates to project managers.
• Process employee expense reports and maintain supporting documentation.
• Assist in payroll processing and benefits reconciliation as needed.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and implement best practices.
• Support the development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
• Participate in special projects and analyses as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with government contracting accounting preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of Unanet preferred but not required.

• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
