Department Summary
The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) School of Business invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor of Accounting position starting in Fall 2025. This position may transition into a full-time tenure track position in the 2026-27 academic year. The candidate will teach a range of topics within undergraduate accounting graduate courses.
Position Overview
This is a visiting position for the 2025-26 academic year with the possibility of a tenure track position in 2026-27. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 4 courses per semester.
Minimum Qualifications
An earned master's degree in accounting or a graduate degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in accounting from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting at the college/university level.
Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Evidence of ability to contribute to the positive culture of our school, university, and community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality lectures, assignments, and assessments aligned with course learning objectives.
Hold regular office hours to provide students with guidance and support on coursework and career development.
Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Engage in service to our school, university, and community.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctoral degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
Professional experience in accounting.
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research in accounting.
Prior college-level accounting teaching experience and experience teaching in multiple modalities.
Commitment to active learning, student-centered teaching methodologies, and inclusive education practices.
Professional certification in accounting (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE) and/or active engagement in professional accounting organizations.
