Join our dedicated Medical Surgical Detox team at Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas. Our Joint Commission accredited facilities serve the vibrant community of south-central Tennessee across two locations:
Winchester and Sewanee.

Position Summary
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process according to established scope and standards. Your key responsibilities will include:
Implementing the plan of care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
Documenting patient care delivered and monitoring patient conditions, communicating effectively with the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
Assisting patients in daily living activities including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care, transfers, discharges, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
Assessing educational needs and providing tailored instruction to patients and families based on their unique situations.
Advocating for the patients' physical and emotional well-being.
In this role, you may also be required to perform duties of a CNA, MA, LPN, or other nursing staff as needed. Participation in staff meetings, in-service training, projects, and committees is expected.
You will adhere to and support all policies and procedures at Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas, working scheduled shifts including potential overtime, and accepting on-call assignments as directed. Maintaining a professional appearance consistent with our dress code is essential.
Note:
This position involves potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Compliance with the Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas Standards of Behavior and Dress Code Standards is required. If filled by a PRN employee, compliance with specific PRN requirements will apply.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Associate's degree required.
Required Skills:
Excellent critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently even in stressful situations.
Certifications:
Must obtain AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Licenses:
Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Tennessee or from a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
