Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential daily living care to residents under the supervision of licensed staff.
Essential Functions:
Maintain confidentiality regarding residents, their conditions, and families.
Follow established policies and procedures, maintaining standards and practices.
Assist residents with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
Ensure clean, dry linens are provided; make beds according to resident needs.
Serve food promptly and assist residents with feeding as necessary.
Carry out resident treatments assigned by the Team Leader within nursing scope of practice.
Record resident information accurately and report any changes in their condition to the Team Leader.
Participate actively in resident care planning.
Support daily living activities based on the resident's care plan.
Lift and transfer residents according to their care plan and the Lift Free Program.
Complete other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 pounds of resident weight frequently throughout the shift.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn continuously during an eight-hour shift.
Strong organizational skills with a capability for sequential task execution.
Must be listed on the state registry as a Nursing Assistant within 120 days of employment.
Genuine motivation and desire to work with geriatric individuals.
Proficient in English communication for effective resident interaction.
Capable of reading and writing in English to manage care plan functions and deliver appropriate resident care.
Physical Requirements:
You must be able to consistently work on your feet during an 8-hour shift, bent, stooped, twisted, and turned while performing your duties. Lifting 30 pounds of resident weight and repositioning them at least 25 times throughout your shift is required. Quick and decisive reactions during emergencies or unexpected behaviors from residents are essential, alongside the ability to safely transfer residents in emergencies such as fires or disasters. You should be capable of sequential task execution.
