Job Summary

Key Competencies:

Experience Required:
6 months to 1 year of HR administrative experience
Experience Desired:
Familiarity with HR-related DOT regulations;
Knowledge of labor agreements.
Experience strongly desired:
Payroll processing for a unionized workforce
Understanding of OSHA safety regulations;
Knowledge of general HR laws
Experience Required:
Proficient in MS Office Suite, Kronos UKG timekeeping software, and Workday HCMS.
Education Desired:
High school diploma or equivalent with 18 months or more of additional training

This role requires on-site work. The work schedule is Sunday to Thursday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Support weekly payroll processing, including pre-close activities, pay report review, overtime and labor reporting, payroll submission, paycheck adjustments, accumulated hours tracking, and vacation/holiday tracking to ensure accurate payment for Team Members.
Manage attendance tracking for tardies and absences, maintaining thorough documentation of attendance write-ups and the proper handling of medical documents and doctor's excuses.
Assist with Team Members' inquiries, including those related to leaves of absence, payroll discrepancies, and coordination of unemployment documentation and witnesses for hearings.
Encourage open communication with Operations and Transportation leadership to address Team Members' concerns and facilitate investigations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
Submit quarterly and yearly perfect attendance bonus information for payout.
Ensure timely submission of status change notifications, data entry transactions, and termination information to maintain accurate records.
Organize and facilitate new hire orientations, including creating name tags, scheduling orientation sessions, reviewing policies and procedures, and completing new hire paperwork and I-9 verifications.
Assist with recruiting activities, including job position creation, as needed.
Update and post bid letters as applicable.
Understand and adhere to the collective bargaining agreement (if applicable) regarding vacation and holiday policies and procedures.
Manage miscellaneous payroll matters, including handling punches, scheduling issues, and UKG system maintenance.
Follow up on I-9 verifications for Team Members (I-9 certification required).
Support fellow HR Team members as needed.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required.
